Vasilis Bottas’ modern and acrylic paintings, excel with their pallet depth, displaying fantastic words with “unnatural” painting approaches and techniques, out of his naturalistic principles we meet in other types of his portfolio. Together with “Faces” constitute the modern style of painting of Vasilis. He works on modern subjects in parallel with his naturalistic works for many years up until recently.

In his acrylic paintings Vasilis Bottas experiments a lot with geometric shapes and cubism, both as decorative elements or as depiction of the main subject. We see aethereal, imaginary words full of circles, triangles, curves, semi-circles and rectangular shapes, guiding our glance deeper in the frame and giving the impression of a 3D creation. These romantic paintings with their warm colours and beautiful thematology are full of joy, energy or serenity, constituting pieces of rare beauty.

The oil on canvas modern paintings of Vasilis Bottas can be divided in three main sections: a) paintings where the subject is clear and the decorative elements are abstract, b) paintings where all canvas is abstract and c) symbolic painting. In these types of painting Vasilis does not pay much attention in the detail and the accuracy, but mostly to the sentiments that give to viewer with the strong depiction of a non-realistic word. Everybody is free to give his/her own interpretation and this is a virtue of his art that he appreciates a lot.

The painter depicts his favourite subjects that we see in other type of his portfolio, like forests, the woman body, animals (especially horses) and the sea in a new form, ambience and touch.
